Truly Inspired – How These Cakes Came to Be.

A talented cake designer can turn almost anything that’s visually inspiring to you into a gorgeous cake.  Bring your ideas – no matter how un-cake-like they seem – to your baker and see what develops.  Here, Cathay Rayhill, of The Sugar Syndicate (thesugarsyndicate.com), shares three recent wedding cakes.

The bride and groom matched their cake style to their gilded and bejeweled Indian-themed wedding invitations.

Bridesmaids wore tuxedo shirts and pants, and the groomsmen dressed tuxedos – the fondant stripes and studs reference the bridal party’s nontraditional attire.

The couple’s wedding site, Architectural Artifacts, an antiques and architectural finds boutique, inspired the invite, which in turn inspired this clean, bold cake design.
